Conference Puts eBay Inc. Interns in the Spotlight | eBay Inc

CONFERENCE PUTS EBAY INC. INTERNS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
This has been a summer like no other for interns at eBay Inc., who reminisced about their experiences
at the first annual Power [UP] intern conference in July. For three days, eBay Inc. interns from all over
North America gathered at the Hilton San Francisco for a series of inspirational sessions with senior
executives, top sellers and new employees just out of college.
The 453 interns in attendance heard from the likes of eBay Inc. President and CEO John Donahoe and

eBay Marketplaces President Devin Wenig and participated in breakout sessions about data analytics,
communication skills, and competitor analysis. But it wasn’t all work: they also got to break loose and
have some fun, eating fondue, playing Pac-Man and other arcade games, and even cuddling with puppies.
John Donahoe spoke to the interns on the second day of the conference.
“I view your coming into our company as one of the most important future indicators of our success,

” he said. “Because you represent the future leaders of this company, and you can help us start innovating
right off the bat. I know you’re already doing that — I’ve heard stories of the impact you’re having already.”
“eBay Inc is committed to recruiting university students into our talent pool, and interns are key to that

strategy — our internships are our primary pipeline for full-time positions,” said Jen Lamorena, senior manager,
University Programs, who organized the conference. “The intern conference was designed as the cornerstone
of our interns’ summer experience.”
